See the demonstation of the text viewer here.
The practical application of TEASys in a digital environment necessitates a text viewer capable of displaying the literary text together with its multi-layered annotations. Part of the research project has been to develop such a tool.
The approach we have chosen comprises two elements: firstly, TEI-conform XML files that contain the annotations and, secondly, a viewer package that builds a reading environment directly from these XML files. This reading environment places the literary text parallel to its explanatory annotations and simultaneously enables readers to actively select which additional information is presented to them. It allows for the display of multiple, stacked explanatory annotations on the same word or phrase with each annotation, or set of annotations, structured in accordance with Tübingen Explanatory Annotation System.
