On Annotation

  • Explanatory Annotation helps open up a text to the reader and, concurrently, leaves open the choice as to the kind of information s/he wishes to access. It is both a teaching and learning tool: annotating texts together in class or a peer-project as a collaborative activity, and working with annotations to learn more about a text.
